Cumberland's Learning Resource Center Lives!

Roane State Libraries and Learning Center have partnered together at the Cumberland campus to create a new kind of student learning space: the Learning Resource Center.

The LRC provides tutoring and writing services from experts like Ann Berry and her top-notch learning center team.

The LRC provides computers for academic coursework.

The LRC provides a core collection of library reference books: Encyclopedia Britannica , World Almanac, Keys for Writers, TN Code Annotated as well as dictionaries, thesauri and other information fact finders.

The LRC provides an easy to use Quick Start kiosk to connect Cumberland campus students with the library's online services and resources. With a few simple clicks, students can request library cards, discover books, eBooks and eJournals and request delivery of items from the Roane, Oak Ridge and Scott campus libraries.

Students at the Cumberland LRC can get fast library assistance through online chat with a professional research librarian.

Soon, students will be able to schedule research consultations with a professional research librarian via the Web.

The Cumberland Learning Resource Center is a pilot of blended services. We will use our experiences to develop similar projects at other Roane State teaching locations not currently served by a library and/or learning center.

Here are few pictures from Day Two. The LRC Lives!
